Chief Designer and rocket scientist Geoffrey Owen founded Helius Designs when he noticed that tonearms were a forgotten component within the hi-fi chain. This surprised him especially because it had been well established how much turntables influenced sound quality.
Helius Designs brings years of advanced technological engineering research and development to their elegant tonearms that sound as beautiful as they look.
The Helius Designs Alexia breaks the shackles of traditional design conventions.
From the optically encoded drive that references itself against the actual speed of the platter, to the unique double wishbone suspension that affords the stylus a stable yet highly protected environment that isolates it from the external world, the Alexia does many things so very new.
At last, you have a product that considers the finer points of setting up; from its horizontal levelling to the single-screw easy adjustment of the suspension....From the vexed question of dressing the tonearm cables to that of universal armboards that facilitate the easy upgrade from one arm to another....the Alexia does it all.
Moreover, it succeeds in doing these things in an aesthetic package that exhibits the standards of design finesse our customers have come to expect from Helius.
The Omega Standard is mechanically very similar to the Omega Silver-Ruby. The Silver Ruby uses tungsten bearings, copper wire and comes in a different color configuration. The Standard is anodised black with silver counterweights.
Omega tonearms are dynamically balanced, damped by differential masses and feature non-coincident bearings. These elegant tonearms pay close attention to small, significant details like bracing ridges machined into the headshell, internal cue construction, silicon bias correction, collet clamping base plate, micro-adjustment of tracking downforce and more.
They’re also gorgeous.
Helius Designs Aurora is the mid-priced Helius tonearm. The Aurora is available as either a 9" or 10" arm, (12" available by special request ) with choices of single strand silver or O2 free internal wire.
The internal wires are terminated in the same way we dress the Omega cables, extending the wire through the arm and terminating with a pair of female phono conectors. This ensures maximum flexibility and does not adversely affect the turntable suspension.
Counterweights are available in 3 sizes to accommodate various configurations of cartridge and length.
The Helius Designs Aurora tonearm is also available with a detachable headshell.
Scorpio 4 Tonearm
Helius Designs Scorpio 4 is the 4th generation of the Scorpio line.
The Scorpio 4 incorporates the cue device into the main pillar—just like its illustrious siblings. And the bearings in this tonearm will trounce anything else on the market in the same price category.
